Designing on Everskies is one of the best ways to get creative, inspired, and stay connected in the community. Through creating Everskies designs, you can build your own brand, show off your ideas for fashion, and do so much more! You can even earn real money from designing! Before you get started, though, please keep in mind the rules we have listed below. At this time, designs can only be uploaded using a web device or browser.

Everskies reserves the right to hold or reject your design submissions that do not comply with or are suspected of breaking our rules. In addition, we reserve the right to reject or hold your designs based on your behavior/ etiquette as a user.

By submitting a design, you acknowledge that you are granting Everskies an exclusive license to use your design for commercial purposes, social media, and on-site asset purposes.

Please note that re-submitting designs without incorporating suggested changes from our team may lead to Everskies holding your design indefinitely.

General Design Rules

  • All items have to be created by you

You are not allowed to re-size, edit, trace, or transform existing images/outfits/designs from the site into your design in any way, shape, or form. This includes anything made by our fellow Creators, their rare sets, or in-shop designs. This rule applies to all images, even patterns, artwork made by other artists, and clothing from other online games. It doesn't matter if the image/artwork is royalty-free or taken by yourself; you must draw your design entirely from scratch and not use pre-made brush stamps and patterns.

  • You should not profit off others’ artwork/concepts/creations

Direct replicas, closely inspired versions of references showcasing brands (incl. small businesses), runway looks, logos, and popular media characters are not allowed. When using references for your designs, consider the following:

    • Use several references to create your Everskies designs

    • Avoid entirely copying shading or rendering from online images. While understanding light and shadow is acceptable, ensure it's stylized and made into a unique item.

    • Play with the colors! Refrain from using the original colors of the referenced garment.

    • Our Everskies Team reserves the right to hold a design, make changes to any existing design, replace items that don’t comply with our rules, deny a design, and take any necessary actions against designs suspected of heavy referencing, tracing, stealing, or breaking other design rules. Additionally, our team reserves the right to delay the review process if we suspect any of these things have occurred.

You should not profit off others' artwork /concepts/ creations. This goes especially with taking inspiration from popular inspiration sources, filled with individual artists' work and small businesses. Always make sure to check the source of the image you’re taking inspiration from to ensure you are not profiting off of a small business’s original content. If you are unsure please contact us at support for advice. Inspiration is mostly allowed, but copying and submitting others' creations, an existing character, or similar are only permitted if you have permission. This permission should be provided to us in advance and you should continue to communicate with us about this matter.

  • All items have to be usable for both bases
Everything submitted, regardless of the currency, has to contain two variations. One to fit each of the default Everskies bases (plus-size and minus-size base), unless the item already fits them both. Some examples that may already fit include earrings, low shoes, and makeup. Please ensure that the quality and fit are the same across both bases. E.g. If you make socks and they are over the knee on the minus-size base, they should also be over the knee on the plus-size base. If you make long hair, you will most likely need to split it up into the foreground and background of the hair.

  • Pick your price

Within reason, all design prices can be set at the judgment of the Creator who created the design. However, please keep in mind our Everskies Team has the final say on whether or not a design price will be approved. Additionally, our team recommends taking into consideration the current marketplace and prices on-site when pricing designs. Please note that if you wish to change a design price once it has already been set, our team may not be able to help out as this is why we have the discount option. You are responsible for your sales— so you get to define your sale prices!

  • Copyrighted items are not allowed

It is not allowed to incorporate trademarked, copyrighted, or otherwise licensed characters, franchises, logos, iconography, artwork made by others, brands etc. in your design. This rule includes, but is not limited to, items/sets based on media/movie/game characters and brands. You might take inspiration from these by removing key elements and making significant changes, but we wouldn't advise you to do so.
You are by no means allowed to recreate fictional and real characters / personalities onto Everskies.

  • All submitted items have to be PG-13

And adhere to our Rules of Conduct and Terms of Service. The following are not allowed: excessive and/or too realistic depictions of gore, nudity and genitalia, references to illegal substances and other illegal activities. While weaponry is permitted to a certain extent, items should not imply harm to the user, contain blood or gore, or suggest a war zone setting.

We no longer allow any separate blood items indicating injury (incl. bandages with bloodstains).

Some items are deemed too triggering or inappropriate for a 13+ audience despite not being in direct violation of the rules above. We reserve the right to reject designs in this case or even in case of doubt.

  • Items have to meet Everskies' quality standards

At Everskies we allow many different art- and shading styles, however at the end of the day we are a pixel dress-up platform. This means that for most items we therefore require a solid 1x1 pixel outline or half a pixel one, depending on your style (except for hairs and for items that are fluffy or furry). All designs must be without double pixels and include appropriate renderings. It is also very important that you, as mentioned above, remember that our canvas size is 221x340 pixels. We do not recommend changing the size during the design process. You can find the design bases and more resources HERE.

If your submission is denied due to quality reasons, Creator voters or the team will try their best to explain where you can improve. Our biggest advice is to look through the shop before you begin your design adventure, that way you can get an idea of the style and quality we are looking for, please remember that this does not mean referencing someone else’s work from the shop directly.

    Always make sure to:

    • Only submit your submissions as a "set" if it contains a full set. For example, a combined pack of tattoos, hairstyles, or jewelry is NOT a set and should not be marked as one.

    • Only submit your submissions as a ‘’set’’ if it contains 7 or more items from different categories, recolors DO NOT count. We may exclude this rule to apply for required items for outfit competitions.

    • If you submit a face/skin, make sure to check that all 6 recolors match the default base and that the sclera continues to stay bright throughout the recolors.

    • Separate your items from the base avatar, meaning export them in a separate PNG format.

    • Check for floating pixels outside your items, this includes accidental blur made by a brush stroke somewhere on the canvas.

    • Check for double pixels.

    • Check for pillow-shading.

    • Check for uneven edges / messy outlines, meaning jagged edges, double pixels, etc.

    • Check for overall blurriness and ensure your items are a solid base, meaning check if the brush you have used to fill the initial form is a solid one and there are no gaps that show the skin, unless it is a transparent/ sheer item.

    • Double-check your configuration of the individual items.

    • Sheer and transparent items NEED to have shading, according to the base you’re designing for be it the default body or any other body modifications, submitting solid color items with lowered opacity is not allowed and will be denied.

    • Name your items properly, do not include anything offensive or otherwise non-PG-13 friendly.

    • Tag your items properly, and connect them to the skin tone they match or the other size variation.

    • Do not include symbols/special characters when naming your items.

    • You are allowed to use emotes to indicate collaborations, alongside alphabets that are not Latin if necessary for your item; an example here would be a t-shirt with a kanji on it, you would be allowed to put the kanji in question in the item name.

  • Do not include symbols in the item/skin names and name your items properly
From 1st of November 2023: To accommodate screen readers, please do not use special characters while naming your items. You are allowed to use emotes to indicate collabs, alongside alphabets that are not Latin if necessary for your item; an example here would be a t-shirt with a kanji on it, you would here be allowed to put the kanji in question in the item name.

  • Username badges are not allowed

As of July of 2024, we will no longer allow username badges and other references to players' usernames within items. This change aims to minimize clutter in Clothing Cosmos and prioritize items that appeal to all users.

Pending Design Rules

When a design gets submitted on Everskies, there is a reviewing process that it must go through before it can be approved or denied. Any design submitted will undergo a “Creator voting” process, where Everskies’ very own Creators determine if a design needs revisions or if it can be approved for the shop. This process takes up to 14 work days for the majority of submitted designs. However, this process may take longer and 14 work days are only an estimate. If additional design feedback needs to be provided from Creators or if the final decision needs more evaluation. Please do not resubmit your design during this time period, as the voting process will take longer due to our system resetting the votes automatically. If your design has been denied and you resubmit it with the necessary changes made, it will need to undergo voting again.

Additionally, please note that our Everskies Team reserves the full rights for making final decisions about design approval, rejection, or revisions, despite the votes.

Status Updates:

For an update on your design, you can see the status of your design in the Creator Studio at all times next to where “Draft” normally appears. If your design has been rejected, you can also click your design to see additional Creator feedback. Any status updates can be found in this area. If you ever need additional clarification, you can contact support.everskies.com.

Please note that our team can only help provide additional clarification on design submissions if you reach out to support, such as why final decisions were made. Any other tickets will not be entertained.

Exclusive Sets/Items:

Please note that some designs may take longer to be reviewed if they are being considered for special circumstances, such as for official events, bundles, lunar loot, and more. You can include it in the description of your design that your set is available for use, additionally tick all the boxes for the said events. The amount of time for approving and reviewing such designs may vary. If you are ever unsure about the status of a design for this reason, you can reach out at support.everskies.com to check if your design is being considered for exclusive use, however please note that in some occasions we cannot give you an update if it’s being used or not, only if it’s held for a potential future event.

Specific Design Rules

Overall Skin/Head/Makeup/Body Rules:

  • You have to include all 6 base skin tones when submitting a face/skin

    • Please pay close attention to the shading of the darker variations. Make sure that the glow, highlights and the sclera stay light.

  • When submitting makeup it either has to work with all 6 base skin-tones, meaning light and dark versions of the make-up or have a variation submitted to suit each.

  • You are not allowed to make body-mods

    • The general definition of body-mods is any modification of the default Everskies body that needs an opacity mask in order to fulfill its purpose. You are however still allowed to make items for already existing mods as long as you include the mods name in your item name as well as recolouring existing ones with permission from the original creator. Check out the body mod master list HERE!

    • Add-on ears, chest/breast modifications and shading and so on are not body mods, however these will still need to be available for both bases and in all base skin tones.

  • Avoid making fake body-mods too similar to already existing body-mods - we encourage you to instead design for the mod itself.

  • You are NOT allowed to design for other fake body-mods.

  • At least 50% of the item of a fake mod has to be covered by clothing / other wearables. Some good examples:

  • You can only recolor the base if it makes sense to include in your submission

As mentioned above, you are not allowed to just recolor the base and submit that standing alone. The base will have to be included in a set where it makes sense. We unfortunately receive a lot of submissions every day where users submit already existing skins but recolored or with a pattern overlay. Since we have so many skins already we encourage creators to look into making faces for them before starting their own. If you make a fantasy skin, you will have to also include a variant of the default skin in all 6 base tones.

    • Recolors of the base skin have to come in both Plus-size as well as Minus-size

    • You are allowed to re-color each of the bases as long as you do it for both the plus-size and minus-size base (as long as this makes sense to the nature of each base of course). These do also have to be priced as 1SD/1 Star. If you wish to add additional shading/details to the base skin you will have to submit these as separate items, not merged with the base skin itself, otherwise, they will be denied for not complying with this rule.

  • All hairs have to be usable with the Plus-size as well as the Minus-size

This means that you most likely will need to split long hairs into a foreground and a background of the hair.

  • You can only re-color the base if it makes sense to include it in your submission

As mentioned above you are not allowed to just recolor the base and submit that standing alone, it will have to be included in a set where it makes sense. We unfortunately receive a lot of submissions every day where users submit already existing skins but recolored or with a pattern overlay and since we have so many skins already we encourage creators to look into making faces for them before starting their own. You are allowed to re-color each of the bases as long as you do it for both the plus-size and minus-size base (as long as this makes sense to the nature of each base of course). These do also have to be priced as 1SD/1 Star. If you wish to add additional shading/details to the base skin you will have to submit these as separate items, not merged with the base skin itself.

  • Full backgrounds and stand-alone overlays are not allowed

Full backgrounds are a Starpass feature and should not be found in the shop. You may split up the background into separate pieces but we only approve a background if it makes sense to the submission. Submissions containing only a landscape background split into pieces will in most cases be denied. In certain cases we however do allow background item only sets.

  • Small single items will not be approved by themselves:
Items such as jewelry, tattoos, piercings, makeup and other will have to be a part of a set or in a submission containing at least 7 other items from different categories, excluding recolors, in order to be approved. Items that are smaller than 10px by 10px will not be approved by themselves.

  • Cultural and religious items are not to be submitted for Stars

We would like items of this nature to be available and easily accessible for everyone. We also do not allow anyone to profit off religious/cultural items, this includes but is not limited to religious symbols, cultural clothing, and so on, however, we are always willing to commission and pay Creators to make culturally representative items for our community, so if you have any ideas/requests please reach out to Creator Support at support.everskies.com.
